I told my parents abt the boy in Nov 2011 & the first question was "What is his cast?'. Then the usual stiff started up. Shoutings, annoyance, arrogance, anger, emotional drama. I tried convincing them in every way but they are not ready to listen. They told me do whatever u want & without informing me they approached his father somewhere outside jst two days back & have abused him & the boy to some extent. They have lied in front of his father as much as they can about me & my character jst to belittle my reputation. My parents told them that I am just a deadbody for them which has to be picked up from their home. Ispite of this the boy's father met me & discussed everything with sitting face to face & gave me a chance to make my parents understand. My mother, father & brother are so much against my marriage that they treat me as a piece of log at home. Do not talk to me, do not take me out with them, do not care when I fell ill. I feel like an orphan in my own home. They are least bothered if I will leave the home or commit a suicide (which I wud not bcz I am not wrong on my part). My boyfrnd is very much with me and we have done court marriage but has not disclosed it to anyone. I wnt to convince my parents atleast for my wedding & vidai. After that if they do not want to keep any connects with me I am prepared for that. I am 26+ and my boyfrnd is going to be 25 soon. We are post gards & working. Just waiting my parents to calm down & then I will tell thaem my decision & wud try to convince them once again. Pray for me and wish me luck :) Sonia Hey Megha,

I am punjabi girl and I am in love with a guy from Karnataka for last 2 yrs. We both want to marry and we told to our parents and as expected at first my family gave me all the emotional things like its impossible, wat ppl will say, we gonna kill ourselves or we will kill that guy and all. I am working in Bangalore, so they wanted me to leave my job but somehow i opposed and its almost a year that my parents know about this guy and in this time period I have made them meet the guy and his family and my parents have been to guy's place also. Now the problem is their culture and our culture is completely different as we are sikh and they are hindu and on top of that their is language barrier my parents can speak hindi but guy's parents cant speak hindi also. So my parents are now stuck at this point that we cant even communicate with guy's parents. I am not able to answer them for this reason... Please suggest what I should do......
